NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - 2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of 'The Score,' the hit album by rap group, 'The Fugees.'

"I'm very excited," said founding member Wyclef Jean.

While the group featuring Jean, Pras and Lauryn Hill disbanded long ago, Jean is hoping for a reunion.

"Shout out to all The Fugees. Pras, Lauryn, what’s up. It’s your boy Wyclef Jean. If you would like to do a reunion tour, please give me a call,” said Jean during FOX 5 morning program, 'Good Day New York.'

'The Score' including hit singles, 'Ready or Not,' and 'Killing Me Softly,' were created in Jean's uncle's basement.

In the meantime, the Haiti native is headed back to Brooklyn to perform at Brooklyn Bowl after more than a decade absence in the borough closest to his heart.

“Brooklyn is special to me. I came to America when I was 10 years old. My first stop was Brooklyn. My grandma, everyone is from Brooklyn. I got a lot of love for Brooklyn,” said Jean.

Fans can be sure to hear music off Jean's new album, 'Carnival 3,' at the special event on Tuesday, March 22 starting at 6 p.m.

“After everything that I’ve been through, it’s pouring out, it’s beautiful, it’s sounding like a celebration. It’s about love, it’s about celebration, it’s about the fact that we can overcome everything we’ve been through. This album, I call it like the rise of the Phoenix. I was part of the fire. For me, I don’t want nothing better for my country than a better Haiti,” said Jean.
