After seven years out of the spotlight, worldwide superstar Wyclef Jean returns with "Carnival III: Road to Clefication," an album filled with dance anthems, funky rhymes, pointed political commentary and the occasional odd surprise — like an unlikely collaboration with Daryl Hall that results in a remake of the Hall & Oates classic "Rich Girl."

"It wouldn't be a proper Wyclef album if there wasn't something odd included," Jean said before bursting into laughter during a recent phone interview.
