  8. Fiat 124 Spider commercial involves Wyclef Jean and…an eagle
Fiat USA has recently kickstarted the promo campaign for the 2017 124 Spider with an ad named “Free Like a Bird,” which features the music of Wyclef Jean and involves the MX-5 based roadster and an eagle.   If you look at the spot you’ll see the eagle has followed the Mazda MX-5 with Italian badges and when the 124 Spider comes to a halt the eagle lands on the trunk as the speaker recites “We all want to be as free as the birds but maybe the birds want to be as free as us.” The eagle is then taken for a spin and the final take is that a 124 Spider is “more fun than flying.” This is clevere marketing rouse, as anyone who has ever flown – all by itself, not in a commercial bus from Boeing or Airbus – knows not even the hottest supercar can compare with the freedom brought by flight.   Anyways, the promotional video is also assisted by a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the ad and a 360° experience which allows viewers to feel how a “bird’s-eye view of the 124 Spider driving down the southern coast of Italy” actually looks like. The Fiat 124 Spider is reaching dealerships soon in time for summer drop top drives and has under the hood a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine sporting 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. It has been mated to a standard six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic gearbox. Performance –oriented drivers might want to hold on to their cash for the upcoming 124 Spider Elaborazione Abarth which brings a customized front end, tuned suspension and a limited slip rear differential.   Via: Inautonews
