    "Donald Trump, he won the competition," singer/songwriter Wyclef Jean crooned to the cords of his 2010 ballad "If I was President." "Hillary Clinton, she put up a competition. Bernie Sanders, he was taken from the competition," Jean sang, tailoring the track to reflect the current political climate on an acoustic set for "Salon Stage." After Jean's remixed introduction recapping the 2016 presidential election, he went into the song's lyrics—a hit song from his album "Welcome to Haiti/Creole 101." Read more: salon.com
  2. Wyclef Jean’s Album ‘Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee’ Is Available for Streaming
    Wyclef Jean has released his new project  Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee , his first full-length album in over eight years. The LP is available for streaming on both Apple Music and Spotify. The 12-song collection features guest appearances from Emeli Sandé, the Knocks, Lunch Money Lewis and Supah Mario. The recording also comes as Wyclef is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album,  The Carnival  and the 10th anniversary of  The Carnival II . In addition to the album, the former Fugees member released a new video for his song “Borrowed Time.” Wyclef used sounds recorded by the Juno satellite, which has been orbiting Jupiter and taking pictures and recording sounds, to create the track.     Wyclef Jean has done a whole lot of collaborations in his career, working with everyone from Kenny Rogers to the Rock—and that was just on one album. But Clef has a different type of co-star in his new song and video "Borrowed Time"—NASA's Juno satellite. Complex is happy to premiere the Jose Javy Ferrer-directed visual, which you can watch above. Working side by side with the scientists from the Juno project, Wyclef incorporated sounds from Jupiter recorded by the satellite into "Borrowed Time." Read more: complex.com

As part of the Fugees — along with cousin Pras and the incomparable Lauryn Hill — Jean was able to fashion a new take on the evolving genre that is hip-hop, irrevocably changing it in the process.
