    Wyclef Jean Releases New Video Turn Me Good
    After dropping his  Carnival III: The Rise & Fall of a Refugee,  Wyclef Jean  returns with the video for his song "Turn Me Good." The video features Wyclef performing his reggae-inspired song in a club before trying to catch the attention of a woman. After finishing his set at the club, it's revealed Wyclef ends up with the woman, as the two drive away into the night. "When I couldn’t pay the rent/I had no money to spend/I was caught up in the trench/Now you’re the reason that we rich/When the feds raid the door/Put the shadow on the floor/They found them things in the drawer/You got me the lawyer for the court," Wyclef offers on the track.     It's been a good week to be the Queen. Just days after being presented with the Jimmy Iovine Icon Award at the Revolt Music Conference in Miami, Queen Latifah was center stage in New York Monday night as one of the honorees of the VH1 "Save the Music" 20th anniversary gala. Latifah was honored for her contributions to the world of music and continued efforts to ensure students in every school across the country have access to music as part of their school day. Grammy-winning musician Wyclef Jean performed at the event. Wyclef praised Latifah for her long standing commitment for mentoring up and coming groups, including Wyclef's own Fugees back in the day.     Very few artists could use secular sounds to transcribe the ghetto like Wyclef Jean. The Haitian rapper-songwriter turns 48 years old today (Oct. 17). Of course, ‘Clef is known for being one-third of the Fugees. The trio rose to fame with  The Score . It was Wyclef’s songwriting and production that defined much of the album, with his gift for melding hip-hop, soul and reggae influences into one unique sound that propelled the Fugees to superstardom in the mid-1990s.     What would normally be a typical day in Timothy Welbeck’s Hip Hop and Black Culture class turned into a public event when a famous hip-hop artist stopped in for the 50-minute class. Wyclef Jean, who is featured on many top hip-hop tracks of the 2000s and known for his work in hip hop group The Fugees, gave a lecture during Welbeck’s class on Friday.     DOVER, Del. — Wyclef Jean had a song named in his honor and worked with producers on his new album who were just kids when he released his debut solo album, "The Carnival." At 47, tributes from today's hip-hop stars and a surge of young producers had Jean deciding to call it a day on "The Carnival" saga. "Carnival III: The Rise and Fall of a Refugee," is the last one under that banner. "This is the trilogy. This is it," Jean said. Jean's first full-length album in eight years was released Sept. 12 by Legacy Recording, and coincides with the 20-year anniversary celebration of the Grammy-winning "Carnival." Jean would collaborate with Santana, cover Bob Marley and snagged a cameo from Bob Dylan over the years, a thrill for him to work with and honor some of his musical heroes.
