Season 2 of the Rémy Martin Presents “The Producers Series” has officially begun. Last month, the series kicked off with legendary producer, DJ Premier, at La Marina. For the next qualifying round, Music Producer/Rapper/Musician/Songwriter, Wyclef Jean, will be the featured guest. Hosted by Rémy Martin ambassador, Charlamagne Tha God, there will be a panel of industry judges critiquing each producer competing to make it to the next round.
The series has expanded and will host qualifiers in Boston and Philadelphia as well!

But what exactly is the 46-year-old former Fugees member hoping to achieve with his latest collection? Wyclef Jean's latest effort, Carnival III, with 19 tracks, is impeccably put together. It's a throwback to not just the golden age of hip-hop, but to a time when people purchased albums, rather than singles. There's not a throwaway on the album that infuses soca, dance music, Hip Hop, R&B, with a guest appearance from Daryl Hall of Hall and Oates, and two tributes to Jimi Hendrix. If you let the last few years tell it, Wyclef Jean is known for everything but music. In 2010, he declared himself a nominee for president of his home country of Haiti, though the country's Provisional Electoral Council ruled him ineligible for office. He also suffered backlash when media outlets reported that his charitable organization, Yéle Haiti, was mismanaging funds, benefitting him personally instead of raising money for relief of the country’s devastating earthquake in 2010.
