In 1996, the music industry remained under the lyrical spell of three artists from the East Coast who sought to change the way we consume music globally. The Fugees dropped their final joint album, The Score , to critical-acclaim, which boasted the replay-worthy singles like “Ready Or Not,” “Killing Me Softly,” and “Fu-Gee-La.” READ: 8-Year-Old Drake Reciting “Ready Or Not” Is All Kinds Of Awesome In an interview with VIBE, Wyclef Jean spoke on the classic project, and said it would still have the same impact if it were released today as it did 20 years ago. “I just think it’s like a good book, like if The Alchemist were to come out now, or it came out then,” he said. “So you have what’s called music, right? And then beyond music you have a feeling, right? So albums that last are the things that make you feel something. Stevie Wonder, it doesn’t matter the era, it makes us feel something; Marvin Gaye — The Fugees makes us feel something. It doesn’t matter the era, because it’s all just music.”

The Knocks are finally ready to release their debut album, 55 . In anticipation of their long awaited full-length, members B-Roc and JPatt offer up “Kiss the Sky,” a groovy collaboration with legendary artist Wyclef Jean. JPatt describes the duo’s time working with Wyclef: “Working with Wyclef has been a surreal experience for us. ‘Kiss The Sky’ came together quickly and organically in one of the sessions we were doing in [Wyclef’s] home studio. It was one of those times where we all instantly knew that we had created something special, and it immediately became a priority for us to release it to the rest of the world.” PopCrush.com called the song "a serious banger, with an insistent beat layered seamlessly with synths peppered throughout the track. It makes for one hell of an earworm." Check it out below: Pre-Order The Knocks 55 on iTunes due out March 4, 2016. PRESS Complex.com TheFader.com Spin.com PopCrush.com
