On Sunday (Sept. 25), Rémy Martin’s “The Producer Series: Season 2” came to a finale in New York City. The event took place in the swanky PH-D rooftop lounge at the Dream Downtown Hotel. Bright chandeliers dangled above the hyped crowd, and black couches snaked all around the venue joined by tables dotted with cheese-fruit platters, and tiny burgers—as the Chelsea skyline served as a backdrop for the music infused night. Wyclef Jean and Power 105.1’s DJ Reymo presided on the stage, during the event.
Dubbed the industry’s hottest beat battle in the East Coast, the event expanded this summer; claiming its beat-making territory in Boston and Philadelphia—featuring the likes of DJ Premier, Jahlil Beatz, C.N.O.T.E, HONORABLE and Wyclef Jean. This past Sunday’s finale showcased a tight competition between eight producers, all battling it out in four different rounds until one was the chosen winner. The competition included remixes of Jean’s new track “Hendrix.”
