Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel reunited Wednesday in New York City for their first performance together in 15 years, which was taped as part of Saturday's 24-hour livestream for Global Citizen Live 2021.  The group performed their single "Ready or Not" for the enthusiastic audience, which was later streamed as part of the Global Citizen event, teasing what's to come for their 12-city international tour.     After their second disbandment in the mid-2000s, it felt like the  Fugees  were likely never to reconnect again. The split between  Wyclef Jean  and   Ms. Lauryn Hill  was both personal and professional, rooted in conflicts of paternity and propriety, with Ms. Hill scorching the earth with earlier breakup songs like “Lost Ones,” Jean stoking flames with a tell-all book, and Pras Michel casting his own doubts when he said in 2007, “Before I work with Lauryn Hill again, you have a better chance of seeing Osama Bin Laden and [George W.] Bush getting a latte.” So when the New Jersey trio finally took the stage last night, just after 10 p.m., the tension that had been building for the nearly 15 years since their last performance was instantly released, and the rush was nearly overwhelming.     Appearing alongside  Wyclef Jean  and  Pras  Michel on Wednesday evening for their first live performance as  the Fugees  in 15 years, Ms.  Lauryn Hill  reminded the 3,000 guests in attendance at the New York City rooftop venue Pier 17 what a miracle it was for them to be standing there.  “There was destiny in us coming together, there was destiny in the touring, and there was destiny in the people we inspired,” Hill told the crowd, briefly recounting the “complicated and beautiful” history of the three-piece group. The famed hip-hop trio made up of Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel will go on a world tour in honor of the 25th anniversary of their acclaimed album "The Score." "As I celebrate 25 years with the Fugees, my first memory was that we vowed, from the gate, we would not just do music we would be a movement," Jean said in a statement.     Ready or Not: The Fugees to Reunite for Tour Celebrating 25th Anniversary of ‘The Score’
    Lauryn Hill ,  Wyclef Jean , and Pras Michel will reunite as  the Fugees and play their first shows in 15 years to mark the 25th anniversary of their 1996 classic,  The Score . The trek will properly launch in November, but Wednesday, September 22nd, the Fugees will play a special gig in New York City at an undisclosed location. The show will be filmed for the upcoming  broadcast event,  Global Citizen Live , airing September 25th. Those wishing to attend the concert can register for a chance to get tickets on the  Global Citizen website . A seven-date North American run will kick off for real November 2nd at the United Center in Chicago and wrap November 28th at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. In December, the Fugees will play shows in Paris, London, Nigeria, and Ghana. Read more: rollingstone.com
